Job description

As a Principal Consultant, you will lead client engagements across the telecom, ICT, and digital transformation sectors, delivering strategic advisory services to operators, regulators, and investors. You'll manage senior client relationships, drive stakeholder engagement, and ensure high impact project delivery across regulatory, commercial, and technical environments. The role also involves identifying new business opportunities, leading market research and thought leadership efforts, and mentoring . You will play a key role in expanding Salience's footprint across EMEA and combining sector expertise with strong commercial acumen.

Main Responsibilities

• Deliver Value to Clients
  • Manage client relationships across telecom, ICT, and digital transformation projects, working closely with senior consultants to design and deliver tailored strategic programmes.
  • Provide strategic, sector‑specific advice to a portfolio of clients in telecoms, regulatory bodies, and infrastructure, ensuring high‑impact delivery and long‑term client trust.
  • Support the creation and execution of integrated stakeholder engagement strategies, often collaborating with in‑house experts in digital transformation, policy, and operational advisory.
  • Develop detailed planning and delivery documents that address multiple stakeholders across regulatory, commercial, and technical environments.
  • Bring in‑depth knowledge of telecom, ICT, and digital transformation sectors, with an ability to translate technical insights into commercially viable strategies.
• Grow the Business
  • Take a proactive approach in identifying new business opportunities, including developing and expanding client mandates in telecoms, regulatory reform, and digital infrastructure.
  • Build relationships across the telecom ecosystem, including operators, regulators, and investors by leveraging industry insights and market knowledge.
  • Lead the preparation of pitch proposals, RFP responses, and fee structuring discussions; present strategic ideas confidently to potential and existing clients.
• Engage and Lead the Team
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, offering insight into client management, project delivery, and industry trends.
  • Work closely with Salience leadership to improve internal processes, knowledge sharing, and collaboration across teams.
  • Regularly share market intelligence, regulatory updates, and sector developments with the team to inform and enhance project delivery.

A background in economics, finance, or a technical field,

• Knowledge of the telecom and ICT market, or similar fields
• Analytical thinking skills, capable of understanding & explaining concepts from high‑level strategies to detailed data flows.
• Proven history of business development with new and existing clients.
• Ability to build strong rapport/relationships at all levels of client organisations.
• Proactive and creative problem‑solving abilities, coupled with a willingness to learn and grow independently.
• Knowledge or previous experience in in‑depth market research and analysis
• Proficiency in MS Office tools or G Suite.
• Excellent command of the English language, along with additional languages like Arabic/French/Spanish, would be an advantage.

This role will require you to relocate to Skopje, North Macedonia, either full time or a 2 - 3 weeks monthly onsite commitment.
