Overview

Principal Civil Engineer — Fareham, Hampshire

Are you an experienced Civil Engineer ready to lead exciting projects and take your career to the next level? A leading Civil & Structural Engineering consultancy in Fareham, Hampshire is looking for a driven Principal Civil Engineer to join their expanding team. This is your chance to lead diverse development projects while mentoring junior engineers and influencing project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of civil engineering projects, including drainage, external works, and highways schemes
• Prepare technical reports and Flood Risk Assessments
• Manage project resources, budgets, and timelines
• Represent the consultancy at meetings with clients, architects, and local authorities
• Mentor and support junior engineers, providing guidance and feedback
• Assist with business development and fee proposals

About You

• Degree or HND in Civil Engineering
• Minimum 5 years\' consultancy experience
• Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or working towards
• Strong drainage design experience, including SuDS
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Site 3D, and software such as InfoDrainage, Causeway Flow, or MicroDrainage
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary projects and client relationships
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills

Desirable

• S278/S38 highway design experience
• Previous line management or team leadership
• Business development experience
