Job summary

Lotus Cars Limited seeks a Principal Engineer – Chassis Systems to lead the definition, development and delivery of chassis and suspension systems at Hethel. You will guide a team of Chassis Engineers, collaborate with Vehicle Dynamics, Safety, Quality and Manufacturing, and ensure design validation through CAE, rig tests and vehicle testing.

The role requires strong technical leadership, extensive experience in chassis architectures and advanced vehicle integration, with on-site work at Hethel,

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive chassis and suspension design/verification experience.
• Experience with CAD-driven development and PLM processes.
• Strong cross-functional leadership and supplier interaction skills.
• Proficiency with CATIA V5 and PLM tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of chassis components and systems data with direction to CAD engineers.
• Head cross-functional activities across dynamics, safety, QA, software, and manufacturing.
• Ensure delivery of Lotus technical requirements and KPIs through development.
• Approve 3D data, 2D drawings and related engineering docs.
• Develop and manage engineering specifications, DFMEAs, DVPS and design sheets.
• Drive issue resolution across hardware/software in vehicle development.
• Lead prototype testing and road-release support for chassis systems.
