Job summary

A global leader in offshore engineering is seeking a CAD Designer to deliver and coordinate CAD design activities for subsea and steel structures. Responsibilities include preparing design drawings, managing a team of designers, and ensuring compliance with company procedures. Candidates should have a technical education in engineering and relevant experience in the Oil and Gas industry. Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD is required.

Qualifications

• Relevant previous design and drafting experience in producing subsea structural fabrication within the Oil and Gas industry.

Overview

Our client is a global leader in offshore engineering, construction, and services for the energy industry, specialising in subsea field development, conventional oil and gas projects, and renewable energy solutions such as offshore wind.

Role

The role involves delivering and coordinating CAD design activities for subsea and steel structures, using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, and supporting project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design/fabrication drawings of steel structures using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD software.
• Manage the drafting work of a team of designers on a project.
• Project resources management.
• Project budget control.
• Organise and prioritise work for self and the team.
• Check all drawings and sketches.
• Interface with project discipline leads to ensure CAD deliverable schedule is being met.
• Ensure project team comply with company Drawing Office, QA and HSE procedures.
• Actively help to guide, train, and develop more junior personnel.

Qualifications

• Technical education related to structural or mechanical engineering.
• Relevant previous design and drafting experience in producing subsea structural fabrication within the Oil and Gas industry, including work at Lead/Senior level.
• Ability to assign, oversee, check, and approve the work of a team on a project.
• Ability to prioritize own workload and manage time accordingly to meet time/budget constraints.
• Produces work of presentable quality.
• Experience in the use of Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D & Vault.
• Good working knowledge of Excel.
• Sound communication skills in English essential, desirable French and Portuguese, both verbally and written.
