Job Description

Service Care Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in Northamptonshire for a Principal Auditor to join the team on a temporary basis. The role contributes to the delivery of assignments within the Internal Audit Plan, covering both financial and non‑financial controls, and may involve work with partners and schools. The post holder is required to plan and deliver audits that provide assurance over the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls operating for the Council and its partners, identifying risks, assessing controls, and informing an assurance opinion over a diverse range of services delivered to local communities.

Candidate Criteria

• CCAB/CIMA/PIIA/CMIIA Qualified or Part‑Qualified with extensive experience
• Experience of planning and delivering end‑to‑end audits for a Local Authority
• Experience of preparing draft reports and working papers with a high degree of accuracy
• Great communication skills and the ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team
