Job summary

Insignis Talent is seeking an experienced Principal / Associate Structural Engineer to establish and grow a new structural engineering capability in Nottingham. Initially, you will support an established Birmingham team, spending 1 day per week in Birmingham before transitioning to a Nottingham-based leadership role as workload grows.

You will own projects, build client relationships, mentor engineers and guide recruitment, shaping a high-performing local team and a long-term Nottingham Studio

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer with MIStructE or MICE designation.
• Significant experience delivering building structures.
• Experience taking projects from concept to construction.
• Strong knowledge of structural materials and design.
• Proficiency with Eurocodes and British Standards.
• Consultancy and commercial experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Ambition to lead and grow a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design projects from concept through to construction.
• Provide technical leadership across the Midlands team.
• Work across steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry structures.
• Lead design reviews and provide technical assurance.
• Ensure designs comply with Eurocodes and British Standards.
• Build and maintain client relationships.
• Support bids, tenders and new business opportunities.
• Mentor engineers and support recruitment and development of a local team.
• Progress into a Nottingham Structural Team Lead / Studio Lead position.
