Job Description
Overview
WSP is seeking an experienced Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health (MEP) Engineer to lead design, technical advice and project delivery within our Property & Buildings. The role will involve joint leadership with a multidisciplinary MEP team, supervision of detailed design, feasibility studies and specification development.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects for your discipline and the overall project team, demonstrating contribution to commissioning and successful delivery.
- Provide technical design and advice within a joint leadership capacity, ensuring multidisciplinary integration.
- Work independently with minimal supervision on technical aspects of your discipline, applying specialist experience.
- Interpret client direction and project needs to meet full delivery requirements.
- Supervise detailed design completion and oversee the work of others.
- Consider discipline‑specific feasibility and lead the overall feasibility study for the project.
- Direct others in producing detailed and performance specifications for the discipline, subject to review by colleagues.
- Review design programmes and ensure sufficient resources are available to complete works.
Qualifications
- BEng/BSc/MEng in an applicable engineering discipline.
- Accredited honours degree (CIBSE / IET / Engineering Council) or experience leading to chartership.
- Working towards I Eng or C Eng status.
- RevitMEP training specific to your discipline.
Key Technical Requirements
- Understanding of UK and European regulations and application to project execution.
- Working knowledge of electrical design software (Revit MEP, AutoCAD).
- Ability to sketch and communicate technical detail graphically.
- UK vetting level of Security Check (SC).

- Bristol office – easy commute via Bristol Temple Meads (10‑min walk) and city centre.
- Cardiff office – easy commute via Cardiff Central/Queen Street (10‑min walk) and city centre.
