This is an exciting opportunity to join the Schools Finance Team in the role of Principal Accounting Technician.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting in the preparation and management of the Dedicated Schools Grant, budget monitoring, final accounts, and related tasks in accordance with agreed timescales, standards, and code of practice.
  • Provide finance support for Early Years and support the continuation of early years expansion and wraparound projects.
  • Work alongside budget holders to provide financial advice and financial solutions.
  • Develop, maintain, and provide a range of financial information for budget holders and both internal and external partners (Schools and Early Years Providers).
  • Deliver efficient finance systems, respond to changes & new legislation.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrable understanding of accountancy and financial management.
  • Excellent all-round communication skills.
  • Strong networking and influencing skills to build relationships with internal and external customers, including schools and private providers.
  • Specified level of spoken English as per fluency duty and customer-facing role.
