Job summary

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking a Finance professional to lead a team of eleven accountants and deliver finance business partnering across the Adult Social Care & Health directorate. You will report to a Finance Business Partner and work with colleagues in Corporate Finance to support a multi‑million budget and service delivery for residents.

Hybrid working is available, with office attendance 1–2 days per week.

Qualifications

• Experience leading finance teams in a public sector setting.
• Ability to provide finance business partnering and specialist financial advice.
• Proven track record of working across directorates and delivering value in budgets over £1bn.

Duties include working closely with the Adult Social Care & Health directorate management team and their directorates to provide finance business partnering services and specialist financial advice and support.

You will lead, direct and draw support from a team of eleven accountants and accountancy assistants, reporting to a Finance Business Partner and working as part of a wider team with other Principal Accountants, Finance Business Partners and colleagues in Corporate Finance. The team has a strong development culture and forms part of the wider finance service which covers budgets of over £1bn.

Supporting a community with over 350,000 residents, 600 services and a workforce of over 12,000 staff including over 100 maintained schools, the finance service includes a business partnering team with over 50 team members. This is an ideal opportunity for individuals with experience of working in finance within any public sector organisation.
