Job summary

Long Term Futures Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant for a Derby City Centre primary school from September 2026. You will work closely with teachers to deliver engaging learning experiences, provide tailored support, and foster a positive classroom environment.

The role requires proactive, reliable candidates with strong communication and behaviour management skills, aiming for a long-term placement with potential to become a valued member of the school community.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• Patient, enthusiastic and able to build positive relationships.
• Experience delivering interventions and supporting pupils in small groups or 1:1.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across the primary age range, adapting to the needs of different classes where required
• Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions to support literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum learning
• Reinforce classroom learning through engaging and interactive activities
• Support pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND where appropriate
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupils to develop confidence and independence
• Prepare classroom resources and assist with the organisation of learning activities
• Monitor pupil engagement and progress, providing feedback to teachers
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents to support children's academic and personal development
