Job summary

St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Middlesbrough is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a hardworking team. The role supports pupils across all primary phases, with a focus on vulnerable groups and those with additional needs, in a Catholic ethos setting.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, capable of building supportive relationships with children, parents and staff.

Qualifications

• Be confident working with children across all Primary phases
• Show a strong commitment to the Catholic ethos and values of our school
• Have high expectations of attainment, progress and behaviour
• Has previous successful TA experience
• Demonstrate excellent Numeracy and Literacy skills
• Be able to enhance existing provision to support learning and participation
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with children, their parents and others involved
• Demonstrate excellent behaviour management and communication skills
• Be committed to promoting self-esteem in our children
• Enjoy working as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Support learning across all Primary phases for a diverse pupil group
• Work with individual and small groups to raise attainment and confidence
• Assist with planning, delivery and assessment in line with school policies
• contribute to positive behaviour management and classroom routines
• Maintain effective communication with parents and colleagues
• Support inclusion of pupils with additional needs
• Collaborate with teaching staff to develop engaging activities
