Job summary

Empowering Learning is sourcing a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant for Nottingham and surrounding areas. The role supports pupils in the classroom, providing one-to-one and small-group assistance while promoting inclusive practices and safeguarding.

You will work with a friendly school team, benefit from ongoing CPD, and enjoy flexible arrangements including full-time, part-time or supply opportunities. DBS check and references are required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a primary school or similar setting.
• Patient, caring and proactive approach to supporting pupils.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and support the class teacher effectively.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Classroom Support: assist the class teacher with engaging lessons aligned to the National Curriculum.
• Pupil Development: support academic progress and monitor pupil progress, including EHCPs/IEPs where applicable.
• Classroom & Behaviour Management: help maintain a positive, inclusive classroom and consistent behaviour policies.
• Collaboration & Communication: work with teachers, SENCOs, and parents; attend meetings and CPD sessions.
• Safeguarding: uphold safeguarding policies and report concerns through proper channels.
