Primary Teaching Assistant - Southwark

Location: Southwark, South East London

Start Date: January 2026

Pay: 95 - 115 per day

Veritas Education is delighted to be supporting a warm, inclusive, and community-focused primary school in Southwark, who are seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2026.

This OFSTED-rated 'Good' school is widely recognised for its nurturing ethos and strong commitment to helping every child succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO, providing both one-to-one and small‑group support to ensure pupils can fully access learning, build confidence, and develop positive relationships within the classroom.

This role is ideal for a patient, enthusiastic, and empathetic individual who is genuinely passionate about helping children thrive within an engaging and inclusive primary setting.

Ideal Primary Teaching Assistant Will Have:
  • Proven experience supporting children in a primary school environment (essential)
  • Knowledge of strategies to support learning, communication, and behaviour
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience, particularly when working with pupils with additional needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff and families
Main Responsibilities Include:
