GSL Education Kent is recruiting a Primary Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Medway, Kent. This full-time, long-term supply role starts ASAP and involves supporting teachers and pupils to foster a safe, engaging learning environment where every child can thrive.

You will assist with literacy, numeracy and emotional development, working 1:1 or in small groups, and contribute to monitoring progress while upholding safeguarding standards.

Salary: £93.33+ per day (depending on experience)

This is a full-time position with an immediate start. As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting both teachers and pupils, helping to create a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment where every child can thrive.

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons across the primary curriculum


• Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to support learning in literacy, numeracy, and social development


• Observing and tracking student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team


• Upholding professional standards and adhering to safeguarding and child protection policies

To be considered for this role, you should:

• Have previous experience working as a Primary Teaching Assistant or in a similar role supporting young people


• Show a genuine passion for helping children succeed academically and personally


• Possess strong communication skills and a dependable, professional approach


• Have the right to work in the UK


• Meet GSL’s safer recruitment requirements


• Hold an Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
