Primary SEND Teacher - East Birmingham

We are currently seeking a passionate Primary SEND Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive SEND school in East Birmingham. As a Primary SEND Teacher, you will be working with small classes of pupils who have a range of complex learning needs, creating meaningful learning experiences that promote confidence, independence and progress. This role is ideal for a Primary SEND Teacher who is nurturing, patient and committed to meeting individual learner needs.

As a Primary SEND Teacher, you will be supported by experienced Teaching Assistants, a strong leadership team and access to excellent on‑site facilities. The school is looking for a Primary SEND Teacher who values teamwork, communication and child‑centred practice. Whether you are an experienced Primary SEND Teacher or a mainstream primary teacher looking to transition into SEND, this is a supportive environment where a Primary SEND Teacher can thrive and develop professionally.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons as a Primary SEND Teacher.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants to ensure each pupil receives the right level of support.
  • Implement personalised learning and communication strategies tailored to individual needs.
  • Contribute to progress reviews, assessment and EHCP documentation.
  • Create a calm, structured and welcoming classroom environment as a Primary SEND Teacher.
  • Communicate effectively with families, carers and external professionals.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience as a Primary SEND Teacher or a willingness to train and learn within SEND.
  • Understanding of Autism, communication needs and sensory regulation.
  • Positive attitude, resilience and a commitment to pupil wellbeing.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
