A specialist educational provider in Leigh is looking for a dedicated Primary Teacher to support students with SEMH and ASD needs. This role involves creating engaging lessons tailored to individual students in a nurturing environment. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and communication.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants and SEN specialists.

Primary Teacher SEMH / ASD Needs

Location: Leigh
Days: Monday Friday
Hours: 08 00 (occasionally until 16:30 on Tuesdays for training)
Pay: £160 £250 per day
Start: ASAP
Duration: Until Christmas, with potential for extension/ temp to perm for the right candidate

We are seeking a passionate, resilient and skilled Primary Teacher to join a fantastic SEMH specialist school in the Leigh area. This is a rewarding long-term role working with pupils who present with SEMH, ASD and complex needs, requiring a calm, nurturing and adaptable practitioner who can inspire confidence and create a safe space for learning.

About the Role

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils who may struggle with emotional regulation, communication and behaviour. Classes are small, and you will have strong support from experienced Teaching Assistants, behaviour teams and SEN specialists.

  • Works well as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent IS DESIREABLE, NOT ESSENTIAL
  • Experience in SEN / SEMH settings is desirable
  • Excellent behaviour management skills and a nurturing approach
  • Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
  • Willingness to attend weekly training sessions on Tuesday afternoons
