Year 1 Teacher Maternity Cover (January 2026 July 2026)
Location: Kings Langley
Salary: £34,398 £46,839 (depending on experience)
Start Date: January 2026

A warm and welcoming primary school in the Kings Langley area is seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join their team on a maternity cover basis from January 2026 to July 2026. This role offers an exciting opportunity for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are eager to contribute to a nurturing and dynamic learning environment.

About the Role:
  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons for a Year 1 class, making learning fun and accessible
  • Adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of all students, ensuring inclusive teaching for all abilities
  • Support children in developing core skills in literacy, numeracy, and social skills
  • Create a calm and supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages positive behaviour and a love of learning
  • Monitor and track student progress, using assessment data to inform planning and teaching
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents to foster a close-knit school community
  • Contribute to school-wide activities, teamwork, and enrichment programs
What We re Looking For:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching in Year 1 or relevant placements for ECTs
  • Strong understanding of the Year 1 curriculum, including phonics, literacy, and numeracy
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
  • A caring, enthusiastic, and proactive attitude to teaching
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
