Overview

Primary Teacher - Newham

Are you looking for a new position as a Primary Teacher in Newham? Pertemps Education is working with a 3-form entry primary school seeking to appoint an experienced Primary Teacher to lead a class in KS1. This is a full-time, long-term position starting immediately until the end of the academic year, with an opportunity to go permanently upon review. The position will be paid to scale from M1 to M6, and the school may consider UPS candidates.

About the school:

  • Based in the heart of Newham
  • A mixed primary academy part of a multi-academy trust
  • 3-form entry school catering for 4 to 11 years old
  • Capacity of around 650+ pupils, with approximately 600 currently enrolled
  • Rated Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted
  • Mainstream setting with a designated SENCO providing statutory SEND support in line with national requirements
Key responsibilities
  • Lead a Year 2 class in KS1
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons across the primary curriculum
  • Assess, record and report on student progress and attainment
  • Assist students with a range of SEND specific to your class
  • Work with other support staff to engage pupils in class and minimise disruption
  • Provide feedback to senior leaders and parents
The ideal candidate
  • Will be QTS qualified
  • Can work full-time, 5 days a week during term time
  • Can work from 08:30 AM to 03:30 PM
  • Has experience working with students with a range of SEND
  • Is enthusiastic and passionate about helping children reach their full potential
  • Is comfortable working as part of a team and can form relationships
