About the School

The school offers a safe and supportive environment for pupils from 5 to 18 years old. Their aim is to provide a learning environment where young people can thrive, feel supported, safe and are then able to leave school happy with relevant experiences and outcomes to enable them to contribute to the wider community. They will be looking for you to teach a year 7 & year 8 class who are at level year 5 and 6.

Role Responsibilities
  • Teach all core subjects to small bespoke class groups of up to 6 pupils, with the support of a Teaching Assistant.
  • Plan, prepare and present lessons that cater for the needs of the entire ability range. Ability of the children in this school are at level of Year 6.
  • Plan and teach well‑structured lessons to assigned classes, following the school's plans, curriculum and schemes of work.
  • Assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress and achievements of assigned pupils, making accurate and productive use of assessment.
  • Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of pupils.
  • Set high standards which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
  • Promote good progress outcomes.
  • Demonstrate secure subject and curriculum knowledge.
  • Participate in arrangements for preparing learners for external tests.
  • Be able to teach up to year 6 level (Primary).
  • Be able to adapt learning to meet learners with SEND.
Qualifications
  • Qualified teacher status (QTS).
  • Degree.
  • Successful teaching experience.
  • Experience with ADHD and SEN knowledge.
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum.
  • Knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies.
  • A good understanding of how children learn.
  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils' needs.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils.
  • Knowledge and understanding of child protection and safeguarding practices and protocols.
  • Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Good ICT skills, particularly using ICT to support learning.
  • Experience in teaching all core subjects within primary level.
  • A DBS on the update service or be willing to have a new one processed.
  • Able to provide references to cover the last two years.
