Job summary

Academics is seeking a qualified primary school teacher to provide ad-hoc cover in a 5-11 mixed primary setting in Swindon. The role offers an excellent rate of pay and term-time contracts, with opportunities for career development and on-site facilities.

The successful candidate will deliver pre-planned lessons, adapt to pupil needs, collaborate with teaching assistants, and maintain high standards of safeguarding and feedback.

Qualifications

• DBS check must be in date with no reprimands prohibiting working with children.
• Degree and teaching qualifications (i.e. PGCE) required.
• QTS desirable; ECT applications welcomed.
• Experience of teaching in a primary setting is essential.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of pre-planned lessons.
• Adaptability to ensure students are challenged according to their needs.
• Work effectively with a teaching assistant where appropriate.
• Think on your feet when lessons aren’t set or suitable.
• Marking and providing clear and concise feedback on completed work in a timely fashion.
• Effective management of classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning atmosphere.
• Ensuring and safeguarding of children.

A mixed gender public primary school for ages 5-11 is seeking an organised and enthusiastic primary school teacher to provide cover on an ad-hoc basis. The 'good' rated school is home to just over 330 pupils and is incredibly proud of their children and are particularly Musical and Artistic. The lovely head teacher epitomises the ethos of the school having progressed from a deputy headship role.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivery of pre-planned lessons
• Adaptability to ensure students are challenged depending of their varying needs
• Working effectively with a teaching assistant where appropriate
• Being able to think on your feet in the event that work has not been set or it's not appropriate
• Marking and providing clear and concise feedback on completed work in a timely fashion
• Effective management of classroom behaviour and keeping a positive learning atmosphere
• Ensuring and assessing the safety and safeguarding of children

Key requirements for the position include:

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
