Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to join a school in Sheffield (S8). This role provides an exciting opportunity to support pupils with additional learning needs, ensuring they have the right guidance and encouragement to succeed academically and personally.

Role Overview

As a Primary SEN TA, you will support pupils individually and in small groups, helping to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where they feel valued and supported in their learning.

Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with a variety of SEN needs.
  • Assist in delivering individualised learning plans.
  • Promote pupils’ independence, confidence, and social skills.
  • Support teachers in maintaining an inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and parents.
  • Uphold high standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
