Job description
Overview

A vacancy at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust invites a candidate to contribute to the development and provision of child and adolescent mental health services across Northumberland. The role supports Mental Health Support Teams, enhances primary care awareness, and participates in service improvement projects.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and provide Mental Health Support Teams, delivering 1:1 evidence‑based interventions, consultation/advise and signposting, and whole school approaches.
  • Increase awareness of needs at primary care level through a model of consultation, liaison, teaching, training and research with primary care colleagues.
  • Participate in service improvement projects, ensuring the needs of children and young people are at the forefront of delivery, including consideration of service evaluation data and joint working with other agencies and partners.
  • Support the development and continued provision of current Mental Health Support Teams and the successful deployment of future teams across Northumberland, involving service development, improvement projects and collaboration with partners such as schools, colleges, early help teams, universal services and specialist services.
  • Provide clinical and case management supervision to clinicians within the service, ensuring high quality care and patient safety is paramount to service provision.
  • Support the service leads to ensure financial efficiency and effective use of resources.
  • Identify gaps in service provision and help develop services to meet the needs of this client group.
  • Role model compassionate and inclusive leadership, shaping collective leadership culture within the service and Trust.
