NHS Forth Valley is seeking a dynamic Primary Care Senior Staff Nurse to provide high-quality nursing care within HMP Glenochil and other sites as required. You will work in partnership with SPS and wider agencies to deliver trauma-informed, person-centred health care to a complex population.

Job description

Fixed Term or Secondment Opportunity* for 12 months to cover substantive post holders career break.

  • Secondment Opportunity – Existing permanent employees must first discuss this opportunity with their substantive line manager and complete the secondment request form prior to interview. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a primary care senior staff nurse in one of our Forth Valley Prisons. This post will primarily be based within HMP Glenochil, however opportunities to move to different sites for development and service need as required. Our ethos is to deliver trauma informed, person centred and safe & effective care to our patients.

The team are currently undertaking new and exciting opportunities within the Primary Care nursing role. You will deliver high quality care and treatment within this unique environment, working in partnership with SPS, and wider agencies. You will be a vital part of a holistic service, making a significant contribution to the health care needs, outcomes and experience of a complex and vulnerable population.

The post holder will be a first level registered nurse, looking to develop and enhance their clinical skills and knowledge. They will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They will have the ability to work autonomously, with a high level of clinical decision making skills. They will be ambitious and a committed individual, supporting the development of a modern and innovative healthcare service.

All posts are subject to rotation. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
