Overview

UNLOCK YOUR BEST WORK LIFE + MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO EVERY LIFE We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care Team at HMP Altcourse, a category B prison located in the Fazakerley area of Liverpool. Within this role, you will be an integral part of the healthcare team. You could be involved in developing and leading clinics, undertaking examinations and tests, as well as answering emergency bells and potentially being the first person to attend an emergency. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse-led service and prevent hospital admissions.

Salary: This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £40,211 per annum - depending on experience. Hours: 37.5 hours per week. You will work on a rota basis covering weekends on rotation, and nights as required to cover staff leave and sickness.

Main duties of the job

As our new Primary Care Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

  • Provide outstanding quality based care to all patients
  • Deliver personalised, non-judgemental care, based on patient feedback
  • Undertake medication rounds
  • Dispense controlled medication
  • Attend emergency response situations
  • Deliver nurse-led clinics to your patient group
