Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Primary Care Mental Health Practitioner (PCMH) for CYPS as part of the Lifespan Model which has been developed within South Tyneside.

This role will provide the post holder with the opportunity to apply and use their skills within primary care, ensuring that children, young people and their families and carers receive appropriate and timely assessment while working with partner agencies.

This is a very exciting, diverse, and autonomous role, so it will be vital to have positive working relationships with the primary and secondary care team as well as third sector organisations. We are looking for a Band 7 Primary Care Mental Health Practitioner who will work directly into GP surgeries, working into the MH pathway to be a step‑down support for families and young people with time‑limited interventions at key times in a young person's life.

The postholder should have extensive experience of working with children and young people within a mental health setting and be able to work autonomously within GP practices while also being an effective team member.

We aim to attract and retain a diverse, talented and committed workforce who are caring and compassionate, and therefore able to meet the demands of the modern NHS now and in the future. In return we can offer a dynamic working environment in which to build a career.

NHS employees identified as at risk of compulsory redundancy and those eligible for the NENC Re‑Deployment careers hub will receive prior consideration.
