Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a part time Primary Care Clinical Lead to join our Primary Care team at HMP Swinfen Hall, a category C men's Prison and Young Offenders Institution located in Staffordshire.

Hours

19.5 hours a week – working two days a week. Flexible on days and 1 x 07.30‑19.30 and 1 x 07.30‑17.30 per week. No weekends.

This position is part‑time; you’ll receive an annual salary up to £58,012 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Primary Care Clinical Lead, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clinical leadership and management to the registered nurses and care teams, with two direct reports
  • Deputising on behalf of the Deputy/Head of Healthcare when required
  • Working closely with partners to maintain a robust, high‑quality clinical service for patients and ensuring your own clinical practice is consistent with autonomous practice within the role
  • Modeling a culture of compassion, care, courage, commitment, communication and competence
  • Coaching, line‑managing and developing clinician staff; supporting and contributing to audits and governance and developing and reviewing local operating protocols for the site
  • Chairing and facilitating specific healthcare meetings with the team and different partners, providing clinical supervision (training available) and carrying out investigations locally and for the wider region
