Job description

We have the opportunity for a Pricing Lead to join our Actuarial & Analytics department here at Tokio Marine Kiln. You will report to the Senior Pricing Manager and will be responsible for being a high impact team player to help drive execution of the Pricing and Analytics Team’s strategy and help transform TMK into an organisation where analytical insights act as the cornerstone of decision making.

The role includes responsibilities for:

  • Designing and building analytical models to enhance risk assessment and underwriting
  • Identifying, assessing, and applying new, innovative, and non-traditional data sources to enhance underwriting capability
  • Working with the underwriting divisions, senior leadership, the wider Actuarial Team and other business partners on the implementation of business strategies and ensuring that the P&A team delivers against their objectives, including but not limited to:
  • Building and deploying pricing models to underwriting divisions
  • Segmentation and profitability analyses
  • Portfolio and capital management
  • Claims analysis
  • Assisting with new product development
  • Building and maintaining close working relationships with the underwriting teams and the wider Pricing & Analytics team to enable the delivery of this objective

The successful candidate will have a master’s or bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or computational field with demonstrable experience or can demonstrate your technical aptitude through other means (for example, relevant work experience, blog writing or contributions to code repos). You will be comfortable working with large data sets and analysing complex data with SQL and other tools such as Python or R. We are looking for someone who is a fast learner; curious, analytical and driven.
