Job summary

The Very Group is seeking a Pricing Assistant to join its commercial team in Liverpool. You will drive pricing data accuracy by managing price lists, product codes, and discount structures across core platforms, while monitoring competitor activity to inform pricing decisions.

This entry-level role offers a hybrid working model, with opportunities to develop analytical skills using Excel and Power BI, supporting Retail and Marketing teams to optimise profitability and market competitiveness.

Qualifications

• Numerical & analytical skills with attention to detail for large datasets.
• Proficient in intermediate Excel functions (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, cleaning).
• Clear communication and collaboration with stakeholders across departments.
• Exposure to BI tools like Power BI is a plus, not essential.

Responsibilities

• System Administration & Data Entry: input and maintain price lists, codes and discount structures.
• Competitor Monitoring: track pricing trends and promotions.
• Data Auditing & Validation: audit live pricing against master strategies.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: act as a point of contact for Retail, Pricing Operations and Marketing.
• Reporting Assistance: compile analytics and track price change impacts.

About the team

We are looking for a highly organised, data-savvy Pricing Assistant to join our commercial team. In this role, you will be the driving force behind turning strategic pricing decisions into operational reality. Working closely with our Pricing & Merchandising Mangers, you will manage high-volume data entry, monitor competitor movement, and ensure our internal databases remain flawless.

About the role

• System Administration & Data Entry: Accurately input, update, and maintain price lists, product codes, and discount structures across our core platforms.

• Competitor Monitoring: Tracks and reports on competitor pricing trends and promotional activity across the market.

• Data Auditing & Validation: Conduct regular audits to ensure the live platform pricing matches our master pricing strategies and documentation.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a helpful point of contact for Retail, Pricing Operations and Marketing teams to quickly resolve pricing queries or system discrepancies.

• Reporting Assistance: Help compile analytical data and maintain to track price change impacts.

About you

• Numerical & Analytical Skills: You possess a natural affinity for numbers and a strong attention to detail when handling large datasets.

• Excel Proficiency: You are comfortable working with intermediate Excel functions, such as VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and basic data cleaning.

• Communication & Collaboration: You can clearly flag inconsistencies and communicate effectively with stakeholders across different departments.

• Tech-Minded: Exposure to Business Intelligence tools like Power BI is a plus, but not essential.
