Job summary

Sompo International seeks a Pricing Actuary for the UK Insurance Pricing team in London. You will model and price across Casualty, Property and FinPro lines, collaborating with underwriters and analysts to deliver data driven insights.

The role emphasizes governance, accuracy and the ability to communicate technical findings to non-actuarial colleagues. Prior pricing leadership and strong Excel/SQL/Python skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
• Qualified or progressing towards IFoA or similar professional actuarial body.

Responsibilities

• Assist in data collection, analysis and validation for actuarial modelling and calculations.
• Lead development of tools for rate change and rate adequacy monitoring and reporting.
• Serve as lead pricing contact for assigned lines, managing relationships with underwriting team.
• Lead individual account pricing with actuarial analysis on complex open market cases.
• Support pricing models for new business areas and update models as needed.
• Apply pricing techniques to analyses and prepare exhibits for management and underwriters.
• Lead business planning for allocated classes with underwriters and pricing lead.
• Identify growth opportunities by analyzing current vs market portfolio.
• Conduct risk audits to ensure models are used correctly and results reasonable.
• Research industry developments and trends impacting Sompo.
• Perform other ad hoc duties as required.
