Job summary

The Actuary is seeking an actuarial pricing expert to join our London-based pricing team. You will work closely with underwriters and senior stakeholders to influence pricing strategy across a broad casualty portfolio.

This role blends technical modelling, portfolio analytics and commercial engagement, offering progression toward actuarial qualification and exposure to strategic pricing decisions within the London Market. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

  • Experience within general insurance pricing, ideally casualty
  • Strong analytical and modelling capabilities
  • Progression towards actuarial qualification, or recent qualification
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with underwriters and senior stakeholders
  • Experience working with large datasets and actuarial modelling tools
  • A commercial mindset and an interest in understanding the drivers of portfolio performance

Responsibilities

  • Delivering pricing and profitability analysis across casualty classes
  • Supporting the development, enhancement and calibration of pricing models and tools
  • Monitoring portfolio performance and identifying opportunities for profitable growth
  • Working closely with underwriting teams to provide pricing insight and challenge
  • Contributing to rate change analysis, business planning and performance reporting
  • Supporting pricing governance, validation and model documentation activities
  • Collaborating with actuarial, exposure management and finance teams on cross-functional initiatives
