Job description
Responsibilities
  • Supporting the delivery of key strategic projects and leading research on: price architecture, promotion optimisation, trade plan analysis, sales forecasting, market performance.
  • Writing complex SQL queries to develop new insight and analysis.
  • Identifying and solving issues, and performing thorough QA.
  • Managing database storage and optimising efficiency of queries.
  • Documenting processes and upskilling data users.
  • Working with Machine Learning models, monitoring performance and accuracy.
  • Supporting the end-to-end process from planning and forecasting through to performance review and insight.
  • Explaining technical details to stakeholders concisely through reports and presentations.
  • Proactively identifying processes where we can standardise, simplify, and automate.
  • Working closely with other relevant teams, such as Data, Pricing, Trade, Dunnhumby, and Technology to ensure our commercial strategy is aligned and executed efficiently.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or related field.
  • Experience focusing on the practical & pragmatic use of data and a passion for connecting your work directly to the customer experience, making a real and tangible impact.
  • Substantial experience with handling large data volumes with modern data processing tools, especially SQL (Teradata and Hadoop).
  • Mathematical and logic-based reasoning skills.
  • Python and similar coding languages.
  • Tableau, PowerBI and similar visualisation tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
