Job summary

Apex Resource Management Ltd in Leamington Spa is seeking an experienced Press Operator for a temporary ongoing role. You will operate a range of mechanical and hydraulic presses, read engineering drawings, and perform quality checks to meet tight production targets.

The role offers rotating shifts with overtime, and hourly pay rates of £16.86 for early/late shifts and £15.13 for day shifts. A 39-hour week with possible overtime is stated.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Press Operator.
• Experience operating mechanical or hydraulic Press or Brake machines.
• Setting experience would be an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Can prioritise work and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to plan and work from own initiative, with minimum supervision.
• Applicants will need to demonstrate attention to detail and reliability.
• Must be a self-motivated individual.

Responsibilities

• Operating and running a range of mechanical and hydraulic presses within the press shop.
• Manufacturing components to a high standard.
• Interpreting and working with engineering drawings.
• Using engineering measuring equipment such as Vernier calipers or micrometres.
• Maintaining machinery by cleaning and ensuring it is in working order, and checking materials needed.
• Working with metals including stainless steel and aluminium.
• Removing and cleaning finished parts ready for production.
• Completing quality control checks.
• Completion of documentation.
• Keeping to tight deadlines and targets.
