CNC Press Brake (Amada / Bystronic)

We are seeking a skilled and adaptable CNC Press Brake Setter/Operator with experience using Amada and/or Bystronic press brakes. The role involves producing high-quality metal components to specification and supporting other machinery and tasks as needed across the fabrication department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate Amada and Bystronic CNC press brakes to form sheet metal components accurately and efficiently.
  • Install tooling, load programs, and make necessary machine adjustments for optimal part quality.
  • Read and work from engineering drawings and job sheets.
  • Conduct first‑off and in‑process inspections using measuring tools such as verniers, callipers, and angle finders.
  • Maintain machines and tools to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Multi‑Skilled Support
  • Operate additional fabrication machinery as required, including guillotines, punch presses, pillar drills, and manual press brakes.
  • Carry out secondary operations such as deburring, linishing, and basic component assembly.
  • Assist with material handling, including using overhead cranes for loading and unloading heavy or awkward materials (training provided if required).
  • Support part packing, labelling, and preparation for dispatch or next process stage.
Cross‑Training & Flexibility
  • Be proactive and willing to learn and support other production lines within the manufacturing area.
  • Provide flexibility to assist in various production tasks during peak workloads or staff absence.
  • Take part in training to expand skillset and support continuous improvement within the team.
Health, Safety & Quality
  • Follow all site safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment.
  • Maintain quality standards including proper documentation, inspections, and defect reporting.
  • Take ownership of your work area and contribute to a clean, organised, and efficient shop floor.
