Job summary

An educational science organization is seeking a Presenter Coach based in Cardiff to enhance the skills of the Live Science Team. This full-time role involves leading training, mentoring presenters, and ensuring engaging STEAM communication. The position may include remote work within a flexible outcomes-based model. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

  • Ability to lead and design training for science presenters.
  • Experience in performance evaluation and mentoring.
  • Knowledge of the Curriculum for Wales and current scientific developments.

Job description

Techniquest is looking for confident science communicator who can present a wide gamut of topics to audiences of all ages and ensure the Live Science Host team can present in these situations as well.
The Presenter Coach role supports all presentation activities in the theatre, lab, planetarium and busking activities on the exhibition floor.

What the role involves:

  • Leading and designing training and ongoing coaching for the Live Science Team to ensure high-quality, engaging STEAM communication.
  • Mentoring presenters to build confidence, consistency, and educational impact across live shows, lab sessions, and other engagement formats.
  • Reviewing, adapting, and updating content to align with the Curriculum for Wales and current scientific developments.
  • Overseeing programme preparation, delivery quality, and health and safety, including stock and equipment management.
  • Supporting performance evaluation, feedback, and professional development for our live science presenters.
  • Contributing to special events, bilingual (Welsh/English) delivery, and wider organisational goals.

This role is office based at Techniquest, with some scope to work remotely in line with Techniquest’s outcomes based working model. Full time, 35hrs a week (including occasional evenings and weekends)
