Job summary

House of Social Manchester is seeking a Bar Back / Busser to support the bar team across early morning, daytime, evening and night shifts in Manchester's first street location.

The role offers an hourly rate of £12.71 with generous benefits. Permanent, zero-hours contract with varied, flexible shift patterns from 8am to 1am. A vibrant, premium dining environment awaits the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience in food & beverage, preferably in a high-volume setting.
• Technologically astute and comfortable with tech systems.

Responsibilities

• Restock spirits, kegs, glassware, ice, and garnishes throughout service.
• Keep bar areas clean, tidy, and well-organised at all times.
• Collect and wash glassware quickly and efficiently.
• Assist bartenders with preparing garnishes and setting up stations before service.
• Receive and help check off deliveries of bar stock, ensuring items are correctly stored and rotated.
• Help move and organise stock between storage areas and the bar.
• Support with waste disposal and recycling during and after shifts.
• Step in to help with floor running or guest support when required.
• Work closely with chefs, runners, bartenders and management to ensure coordinated and efficient service.
• Support the team during peak times and events on the floor & bar areas.
• Participate in briefings, tastings, and training sessions to maintain brand and product knowledge.
• Maintain the upkeep of our premium site & facilities; communal areas must be cleaned and maintained to a high standard.
• Be a point of contact for any potential incident or emergency that may occur onsite.
• Maintain waste management areas adhering to health & safety regulations, ensuring potential hazards are addressed / cleaned / tidied / reorganised as required.
