Overview

Premises Manager - Primary School (Lewisham, South East London)

Start Date: December 2025 (handover in December)

Hours: 8:30am - 11:30am and 4:00pm - 6:00pm, Monday to Friday

Salary: SO1 (Pro Rata, Term Time Only)

Contract: Long-term, ongoing position

Tradewind Recruitment are working on behalf of a welcoming and well-established primary school in the London Borough of Lewisham, who are seeking an experienced and reliable Premises Manager to join their team from December 2025. This is a long-term position with the opportunity to become a valued and integral part of the school community.

The successful candidate will be taking over from the current Premises Manager, who is retiring in January, and will therefore benefit from a comprehensive handover period in December to ensure a smooth transition.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee site maintenance, security, and health & safety procedures
  • Carry out minor repairs and liaise with contractors for larger works
  • Manage cleaning and site staff to ensure high standards across the school
  • Open and close the school site daily
  • Conduct regular checks and risk assessments
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and safeguarding requirements
Ideal Candidate
  • Have previous experience in a similar school or facilities role
  • Possess strong practical and organisational skills
  • Demonstrate reliability, initiative, and a proactive approach to site management
  • Be confident managing health & safety and compliance documentation
  • Be available for split shifts during the school day
