Job summary

Hill & Hill Recruitment Ltd is representing a leading Tier 1 main contractor in the UK. They are looking to appoint an experienced Preconstruction Project Manager / Bid Manager to join their growing team and lead bids from tender through pre-construction to site mobilisation.

The successful candidate will coordinate with clients, consultants and internal teams, drive buildability reviews and value engineering, and ensure a smooth handover to delivery teams, with a salary of 90,000–100,000 plus

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Preconstruction Project Manager or Bid Manager role
• Main contractor background beneficial
• Experience managing tender and pre-construction phases
• Strong procurement and programme management understanding
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience in commercial, education, healthcare, refurbishment or public sector projects advantageous

Job description

Our client is a leading Tier 1 main contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering complex construction projects across the UK. They are looking to appoint an experienced Preconstruction Project Manager / Bid Manager to join their growing team.

The successful Preconstruction Project Manager / Bid Manager will play a key role in securing and delivering projects, managing schemes from tender stage through pre-construction and into site mobilisation. Working closely with clients, consultants and internal teams, you will help drive successful bids and ensure projects are handed over efficiently to the delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead projects through the pre-construction phase.
• Manage bid programmes and tender submissions.
• Coordinate design teams, consultants and internal stakeholders.
• Carry out buildability reviews and value engineering exercises.
• Support procurement strategy and project planning.
• Ensure a smooth transition from pre-construction to project delivery.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Preconstruction Project Manager, Bid Manager, Preconstruction Manager or similar role.
• Main contractor background.
• Experience managing projects through tender and pre-construction.
• Strong understanding of construction methodology, procurement and programme management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience within commercial, education, healthcare, refurbishment or public sector projects would be advantageous.
