Job summary

Salamander is seeking a skilled TIG Welder for Deeside, UK. The successful candidate will weld stainless steel and copper-nickel components and support other production tasks as needed. Precision, safety, and attention to detail are essential.

Experience with thin-wall welding and multiple alloys is highly advantageous. Position involves on-site testing and adherence to company WPS, with a strong emphasis on quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 5 years of welding experience preferred.
• Proven TIG welding of stainless steel and copper-nickel alloys.
• Experience with pipe welding, especially thin-wall piping.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding of stainless steel and copper-nickel components per WPS.
• Weld in various positions and joint configurations, including thin-wall ≤1.5 mm.
• Conduct on-site welding tests for qualification and QA.
• Operate and maintain welding power tools and equipment.
• Perform liquid penetrant inspections and verify weld integrity.
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE.
• Maintain clean and organized work area.
• Participate in first aid training.
• Support other production duties when welding isn’t required.
