Job summary

Red King Resourcing in the United Kingdom seeks a skilled TIG Welder / Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our manufacturing team in Slough. You will weld and fabricate high-quality thin-gauge components in stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel, following engineering drawings.

The ideal candidate possesses precise torch control, excellent blueprint reading, and strong heat-management knowledge to prevent burn-through on thin materials.

Qualifications

• Precise torch control for thin-gauge metals.
• Strong blueprint-reading skills.
• Knowledge of heat management to prevent burn-through.
• Experience with stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel.

Responsibilities

• TIG Welding: Perform high-precision GTAW/TIG welding on thin-gauge sheet metal (0.5mm to 3mm) in stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel.
• Fabrication & Assembly: Set up, clamp, tack-weld, and assemble components according to engineering blueprints, schematic drawings, and welding symbols.
• Material Prep & Finishing: Degrease, clean, brush, prep joints; dress, grind, blend, and finish welds to surface standards.
• Machine Setups: Adjust TIG machine parameters (amperage, high frequency, pulse, shielding gas flow, tungsten selection) tailored to material type and thickness.
• Quality & Tolerance Control: Inspect finished welds for penetration, porosity, undercut, and alignment using precision instruments.
• Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean workspace, perform daily PPE safety protocols.
