Job summary

TLG Infrastructure is seeking a Setting Out Engineer to join a leading Civil Engineer contractor on a contract basis. The candidate will ideally have experience setting out for drainage, groundworks and earthworks.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, setting out lines, mark formation levels, and ensuring measurements and levels are accurate using surveying equipment. Collaborate with site engineers and supervisors while adhering to site health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings.
• Ability to set out drainage lines, manholes, kerbs and earthworks.
• Ability to mark excavation lines and formation levels.
• Competence in checking ground levels and site measurements.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand construction drawings.
• Set out drainage lines, manholes, kerbs, and earthworks.
• Mark excavation lines and formation levels.
• Check ground levels and site measurements.
• Use surveying equipment such as a total station, GPS, and automatic level.
• Ensure drainage and earthworks are completed to the correct line and level.
• Record survey data and site measurements.
• Report any drawing or site discrepancies.
• Work closely with site engineers, supervisors, and machine operators.
• Follow health and safety procedures on site.
