Job summary

Wärtsilä is seeking a Quality Control Inspector for the machine shop on a weekend day shift in Havant. The role covers product inspection across production cells, ensuring parts meet drawings and specifications, and coordinating with QA and Manufacturing to resolve issues.

A background in mechanical inspection and strong reading of drawings is required. In this role you will raise non-conformances, work within ISO/quality processes, and contribute to OTIF goals while maintaining safe, clean work

Qualifications

• 5+ years mechanical inspection experience desirable.
• Ability to read and understand drawings is essential.
• Experience in a production/engineering environment is essential.

Responsibilities

• Inspect components at various stages through production, including final inspection.
• Raise non-conformances according to the non-conformance process.
• Read & interpret technical drawings and related documentation (POs, concessions).
• Use calipers, micrometers, thread gauges to check dimensions.
• Coordinate with QA and Manufacturing to ensure compliance with process work documents.
• Maintain a safe working environment and high housekeeping standards.
