Job summary

World Class Defence Organisation in Bolton is seeking a Mechanical Fitter on a 12-month contract. The role covers manufacturing and test tasks in the mechanical department, ensuring adherence to certification procedures and project timelines.

Qualified candidates will typically hold an apprenticeship or NVQ/HNC path, with experience in precise, intricate fitting and use of measuring tools. Overtime is paid after 37 hours at time-and-a-half.

Qualifications

• Significant mechanical fitting experience required for high-detail work.
• One of the following education paths is expected: approved apprenticeship or City & Guilds parts, TR23/ONC, or NVQ3 with FE.

Responsibilities

• Carry out manufacturing and test tasks within the mechanical department to meet project objectives.
• Certify the product in line with certification procedures.
• Maintain product certification and approvals via audits.
• Be conversant with all equipment, tools and measuring instruments used in manufacturing.
• Ensure manufacturing build times are met and paperwork is completed accurately.
