Job summary

Discover Engineering is seeking an experienced Project Mechanical Design Engineer to deliver precise, manufacturable designs and thorough engineering documentation for customer projects across the UK and Europe.

You will produce 3D CAD drawings with Inventor and SolidWorks, create complete manufacturing and assembly documents, and work closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams to ensure designs are right first time and delivered on schedule.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least five years’ experience in mechanical design or project engineering.
• Strong CAD experience using SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.
• Experience producing detailed manufacturing drawings for fabricated components.
• Understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes, especially outsourcing.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills interacting with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
• Permanent right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Produce and modify detailed 3D CAD drawings using Inventor and SolidWorks.
• Create complete manufacturing and assembly documentation for internal and external partners.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers and internal teams throughout project delivery.
• Ensure designs meet customer specifications and applicable standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in the engineering department.
