ASHTON REED RECRUITMENT LIMITED is seeking a hands-on finisher/assembler for a precision engineering environment in the Nottingham area. You will fettling, grinding, finishing, and assembling components in line with engineering drawings and customer specs to ensure products leave the factory at a high standard.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Experience using hand-held power tools such as grinders and sanders.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to read basic engineering drawings.
• Good manual dexterity.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable with a strong work ethic.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Fettle, grind, linish and finish laser cut and fabricated components.
• Remove weld spatter, sharp edges and imperfections to achieve a high-quality finish.
• Assemble fabricated components using hand and power tools.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Carry out visual quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process.
• Report any defects or quality concerns to the Team Leader.
• Ensure components are completed within production deadlines.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area.
• Follow all company Health & Safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
• Assist other departments when required to support production.
