Job summary

Project Start Recruitment Solutions represents a well-established precision engineering business based in Bristol and Westbury, seeking a Procurement Coordinator to join their team. The role focuses on purchasing materials, supplier management, and coordinating subcontracted work.

You will support customer accounts, manage job packs, monitor delivery dates and lead times, and help reduce costs while maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Qualifications

• Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Commercially aware with confidence challenging prices and lead times.
• Experienced dealing with suppliers, subcontractors and customers.
• Comfortable in a busy manufacturing/engineering environment and collaborating across teams.

Responsibilities

• Purchase raw materials, bought-out items, consumables and other procurement needs.
• Obtain and compare supplier quotations; negotiate pricing, lead times and terms.
• Coordinate subcontract activities (plating, coating, grinding, heat treatment and special machining).
• Monitor lead times, escalate issues affecting delivery and build strong supplier relationships.
• Support customer accounts with day-to-day order and delivery updates; communicate priorities internally.
