Job summary
Hunter Selection is seeking a CNC Machinist (Turning) in Irlam to join a precision engineering team producing high-spec parts from engineered plastics and fluoropolymers. You will programme, set and operate Fanuc CNC turning machines, read drawings with GD&T, select tooling and perform first-off inspections.
The role offers Monday–Friday, 7:30am–3:30pm, with overtime, pension and holiday benefits; salary £40,000–£48,500 based on experience and skills.
Qualifications
- Strong CNC turning experience.
- Experience programming, setting and operating CNC lathes.
- Fanuc control experience.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Precision machining experience.
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
- Quality-focused approach.
Responsibilities
- Programme, set and operate CNC turning machines.
- Edit and prove ISO turning programmes.
- Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Select tooling, offsets and workholding equipment.
- Carry out first-off inspections and quality checks.
- Troubleshoot machining and production issues.
- Maintain accurate production documentation.
- Support continuous improvement and process development.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams.
