Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer for a role in Tewkesbury, UK. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience with CNC Turning and multi-axis machinery in a precision engineering environment. The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with CAD/CAM systems and LEAN manufacturing principles is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience operating CNC Turning and multi-axis machinery in a precision engineering environment.
  • Experience in high-compliance, tight-tolerance production environments (Oil & Gas, Aerospace preferred).
  • Skilled in the use of manual measuring equipment; CMM experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Set, operate, and programme CNC Turning and Mill-Turn machines to manufacture precision components.
  • Work closely with supervisors and colleagues to meet production timelines and quality standards.
  • Ensure all required documentation and production records are completed accurately.
  • Maintain high levels of safety, quality, and housekeeping within the work area.

Skills

CNC Programmer (Turner)
Ability to set, operate, and programme CNC Turning machinery
Understanding of fixtures, feeds and speeds, tooling, and machining safety
Experience with FANUC, Okuma QSP-200L, ISO, or Mazatrol programming
Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing principles
Familiarity with CMM inspection and measuring techniques

Education

Recognised engineering qualification (City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent)

Tools

CAD/CAM systems (SolidWorks, hyperMill)
Manual measuring equipment
