Job summary

AMLR Recruitment Ltd in Basildon is seeking a Surface Treatment Technician to join a leading aerospace manufacturer. You will prepare and treat high-quality metal components in a precision engineering environment, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards.

Responsibilities include operating chemical processing equipment, applying coatings, monitoring processes and maintaining documentation. The role requires attention to detail, safety awareness and teamwork within a production setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to read engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Understanding of chemical handling and safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of measuring equipment and quality inspection techniques.
• Good record-keeping and documentation skills.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Awareness of health, safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and operate chemical processing equipment and tanks.
• Clean, degrease and etch metal components prior to treatment.
• Apply chemical conversion coatings, anodising, passivation and other surface treatments.
• Monitor chemical bath concentrations, temperatures, pH levels and processing times.
• Record process parameters and maintain production documentation.
• Inspect treated components for quality and compliance with specs.
• Follow SOPs and aerospace quality standards.
• Safely handle, store and dispose of chemicals per health and safety rules.
• Carry out routine maintenance on chemical processing equipment.
• Collaborate with quality inspectors, engineers and production teams.
