A prestigious educational institution is seeking a Wellbeing Manager for their Pre-University Summer School. This role involves managing the welfare of residential students aged 16 and 17, leading social activities, and ensuring adherence to safeguarding policies. Candidates should have relevant experience with young adults, strong management skills, and emotional resilience. The position is fixed term from January to July 2026, with a hybrid working model during the Spring and full-time commitment during the Summer.

Summer Programmes is a specialist creative business development unit in the School of International Education and Languages that designs, develops and delivers open and bespoke seasonal international education programmes in line with King's Education Strategy. Its portfolio includes flagship Undergraduate and Pre-university Summer Schools, customised undergraduate and postgraduate student programming for international partners, short courses and overseas programmes offered in face-to-face, blended and online modalities.
King's Centre for International Education and Languages is a new, cross-cutting Centre designed to widen the educational reach of King's. It brings together three existing areas: King's Foundations, Summer Programmes, and King's Language Centre. This brings together international pathway provision, pre sessional programmes, pre-university summer courses, UG summer modules, UG language modules, bespoke language programmes for the community and our partners, and academic skills provision for all King's students. Each of these areas are well established, respected and recognised within and beyond the King's community. The Centre is focused on enabling collaboration between the three departments to further advance our work in promoting educational excellence and supporting and enhancing the student experience. The Centre has significant expertise in International Education and makes a significant contribution to the rich and diverse make-up of the King's student body.
To manage the wellbeing and pastoral care of 16 and 17-years old Pre-University Summer School residential students appropriate to their age and background, to ensure their wellbeing whilst attending King's Summer Programmes. To effectively manage the social activity programme ensuring that it is inclusive, safe, and suitable for all students, promoting it effectively to encourage high participation rates. Leading a team of residential assistants, this role provides both proactive care and support to all students during their stay as well as support to students in crisis. The postholder will be required to live in the designated student residence (Stamford Street Apartments) between 5 July and 1 August 2026 and must hold a valid enhanced DBS certificate. The accommodation provision in SSA is free of charge and includes 2 meals per day (breakfast and dinner) served in the onsite restaurant. The postholder will work closely with the Senior Pre-University Summer School Manager, Student Experience and Academic Programme managers to ensure the smooth day to day running of the summer school.
January -March: Mon-Fri, flexible between 17.5 - 35 hours per week depending on workload.
From April till July - full time, 5 days out of 7, Mon - Sun; postholder may be required to work additional hours during this period; this will be paid at the normal hourly rate
