Job summary

A local authority is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Pre-School Early Years Practitioner. Responsibilities include working with children, partnership with parents, and ensuring excellent behaviour management. Candidates must have experience in an early years setting and strong literacy and numeracy skills. The role is full-time for 37 hours per week, with a salary range of £20,733 to £21,391.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience of working in an early years setting is essential.
  • High standard literacy and numeracy skills with a good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Additional training, e.g. Paediatric First Aid, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support a key group of children and work as part of a team.
  • Work in partnership with parents and liaise with outside agencies.
  • Maintain flexibility and reliability in an ever-changing profession.
  • Nurture children and manage behaviour effectively.

Salary: Grade 3, 20,733 – 21,391 per annum. 12.85 – 13.26 per hour

Hours: 37 hours per week, term time working 38 weeks per year

Temporary until: December 2026

Required for: December 2025

Hours of Work:
  • Monday: 07:45am – 16:00pm
  • Tuesday: Off
  • Wednesday: 07:45am – 18:00pm
  • Thursday: 07:45am – 18:00pm
  • Friday: 07:45am – 18:00pm

1 hour lunch each day

The Governors of St Cuthbert's Catholic Primary School and Early Years Centre are seeking to appoint one enthusiastic, creative, motivated and experienced Early Years Practitioner.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with and support a key group of children, individual children and as part of a team of practitioners within the pre‑school room.
  • Work in partnership with parents and liaise with outside agencies where necessary.
  • Maintain flexibility and reliability in an ever‑changing profession.
  • Show great sense of humour, nurture children with excellent behaviour management and personalise support.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience of working in an early years setting is essential.
  • High standard literacy and numeracy skills with a good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Additional training, e.g. Paediatric First Aid, preferred.
